Zel moved to Cincinnati as a teenager, attended business college, where she met her husband Jacob. She remained in Lima the rest of her life. Zel was elegant, happy, and always a true lady. She was a devoted loving wife for 66 years, a mother, sister, aunt, and friend. Her finest quality was her absolute dedication to her husband and children, and she always maintained a sunny disposition. She accepted everyone and everything in life graciously and always had a smile on her naturally beautiful face. She was active in many civic events, at Temple Beth Israel Shaare-Zedak, a volunteer for both St Rita and Lima Memorial Hospital, and president of Hadassah. She was our rare jewel, polished bright and always to be remembered.

Zel is survived by son Dr Jeffrey Yessenow and his wife Marla and children Brad, Josh, and Lauren; daughter Joyce Hallet and her husband Dr Michael Hallet, brother-in-law Paul Yessenow, sister-in-laws Sophie Rabiner and Betty Goldenberg, Esther Yessenow, and many nieces and nephews.
