Undra Maurice Gibson “Dray G” 51 of Lima, Ohio passed away on July 10, 2023, at Mercy Health St. Rita’s.

Undra was born on March 10, 1972, in Lima, Ohio to Mariah Gibson-Hutchins and L.C. Dawson. He was preceded in death by loving stepfathers, Green Gibson and Leonard Hutchins, brother Shawn L. Gibson.

He survived by a loving companion Pamela Jones, brothers Chris Gibson, Sherman Gibson both of Lima, Antonio Dawson of Louisville, Ky. and Jermaine Dawson of Columbus, Ohio and a host of stepsisters, brothers, Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.

Undra was a 1990 graduate of Lima Senior High School. He entered the U.S Army in 1990 and served until 2005. He served overseas in Iraq, Korea, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, and at home, served in many different cities in United States. He was a Staff Sergeant, a veteran who served in Desert Storm and the Iraq War honorably. After leaving the U.S military, he furthered his education at Rhodes State in social services. He was employed as a security guard supervisor at Proctor & Gamble, a daycare provider and was a program instructor for Champaign Residential Services Company helping people with special needs. Undra was a member and Minister of Powerhouse Deliverance Church of God in Christ, and a member of the local Lima YMCA, mentoring young men and women. Undra loved life, vacationing, church, family and most of all loved the lord dearly.

Viewing will be on Monday, July 17, 2023, from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. at the Shawnee Chapel of Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services. His funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m., Monday in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery with military rites by V.F.W. Post 1275 and the U.S. Army Honor Guard.
