Thomas G. “Tom” Greenland, age 87, was called to his tee time at 6:25 p.m. Saturday, February 25, 2023, at Mercy Health – St. Rita’s Medical Center with the love of his family by his side.

Tom was born January 26, 1936, in Lima, OH, to the late Gilbert “Bud” and Mary Jane (Mowery) Greenland. On June 13, 1959, he married Donna M. (Parsel) Greenland.

Tom was a 1954 graduate of Lima Central High School and attended The Ohio State University. He proudly served in the United States Army. Tom worked for the Lima Parts Company for many years and after retirement he worked in the Wapakoneta Country Club pro shop. He was a member of Faith Christian Church and the Lima Senior Citizens Center, where he enjoyed coffee at the round table. Tom enjoyed woodworking and was an avid golfer. Tom always found time to golf at least once a month, even during the winter. He enjoyed working around the house and feeding the squirrels, going as far as to naming each one of them. Tom was especially proud of his family and loved spending time with his wife, daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Donna M. Greenland of Lima; two daughters, Joyce Kemper of Lima, and Peggy (David) Edling of Columbus; two grandchildren, Jennifer (Jacob) Mathews of Columbus, and Max Edling of Columbus; two great grandchildren, Oliver “Ollie” and Rosalyn “Rosebud” Mathews; his special softball girls, Sue, Gina, Kim and Gayle; and his beloved grand dogs, Bella and Snoop.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son-in-law, Edward Kemper; sister, Nancy (James) Fredericks; brother-in-law, Richard (Christine) Parsel, and his beloved cat, Minnie.

Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at CHILES – LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL. Rev. Terri Weis-Haithcock will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 28, and from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 1, prior to the service at the funeral home.
