Thomas E. Dunifon, Sr., 66, of Lima, passed away at 11:58 on Sunday, February 25, 2018 at Lima Memorial Hospital.
He was born on October 26, 1951 in Lima to Rolland E. and Alta J. (Hawk) Dunifon, who both preceded him in death. On August 31, 1973, he married Karen S. Snyder, who survives in Lima.
Thomas was a foreman/raker for Lima Asphalt and Paving for over 33 years. He proudly served his country during Vietnam as a member of the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Eagle’s Aerie #370, Lima. He enjoyed watching football, especially the Cincinnati Bengals and The Ohio State University Buckeyes. He also enjoyed playing the Ohio Lottery Scratch-offs. He loved fishing, hunting and cooking.
Surviving are his children Thomas E. (Heather) Dunifon, Jr. of Alger, Timothy S. (Victoria) Dunifon of Lima and Tana (Craig) Miller of Harrod; his brothers Dave E. (Deb) Dunifon of Lima, Rolland E. Dunifon of Lima, William M. (Shannon) Dunifon of Lima and Lonnie (Sue) Lundy of Delphos; his sisters Nancy E. Fosburgh of Lima, Loretta “Betty” (Shawn) Gruber of Lima, Deb (Scott) Risner of Huntsville, Lana (Tim) Slusher of Harrod; his sister-in-law Vicki Dunifon of Lima; his step-mother Loretta Dunifon of Lima; his twelve grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brothers Rolland W., James R. and Timothy Dunifon; two grandchildren; his brother-in-law Butch Fosburgh.
The family will receive friends on February 28, 2018 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM on 2018 at CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL HOME, EAST CHAPEL.
Funeral services will be on March 1, 2018 at 11:00 AM at CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL HOME, EASTSIDE CHAPEL, with Pastor Ed Ingram, officiating.
Interment will immediately follow the services at Memorial Park Cemetery, with VFW Post 1275 and active members of the U.S. Army performing military graveside services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dunifon family during this difficult time.
