Thomas Alan Emerick, 59, passed away Saturday, September 3, 2016, at 12:00 pm, at the Lima Memorial Health System surrounded by his family.

Tom was born on March 11, 1957 to Carlton L. and Gathyl (Downing) Emerick in Bluffton, OH. He was a 1975 graduate of the Allen East High School. While in high school Tom went to work after football season for his older brother Mike at Lima Sheet Metal and continued for over 40 years. He served as the Vice President of the company and the lead project manager for Rudolph Foods. Tom loved his Rudolph family; they were a big part of his work life.

Survivors include; a sister, Marcia Kay (Don Bolt) Benton of Lansing, MI and a brother, Michael (Anne) Emerick of Lima, OH. Two nieces; Diana Phillips and Blair Emerick, Five nephews; Marc Emerick, Brian (Kim) Emerick, Steve (Jill) Emerick, William Emerick, and Bo (Stephanie) Emerick, twelve great nieces and nephews; Katie and Bethany Phillips, Clayton Emerick, Logan and Reagan Emerick, Michael, Gracie and Steven Emerick, Madeline, Jameson and Lily Emerick. He is also survived by his ex-wife Penny (Wright) Emerick.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Barry E. Emerick and his twin sister Tari A. Emerick.

Tom loved the outdoors and being able to hunt and was into Indian Artifacts. He enjoyed his hunting trips to Colorado in the fall for many years on Pikes Peak, where his ashes will be spread. He loved following the Buckeye’s in basketball and football. Tom was a member of the Hog Creek Game Club, Safari Club and many fishing and hunting clubs.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, September 8, 2016 at 4:00 pm at his brother Mike’s home. For more information please email; janet@limasheetmetal.com or call at 419-229-1161. The family asks that you dress casual and come hungry.

In lieu of flowers any donations may be made to Hunter Safety courses or for Youth Hunting. Tom loved kids and loved being able to teach them about hunting.

The family has entrusted the CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, EASTSIDE CHAPEL in assisting them with funeral arrangements.
