Thomas Alan “Pete Tom” Collier, age 70, passed away from this life on Thursday, June 22, 2023, at 9:25 pm, at the Ohio State University-Wexner Medical Center with his family by his side.

Thomas was born January 16, 1953, in Lima, OH, to the union of Bishop James and Georgia Mae (Gooding) Collier who both preceded him in death.

Thomas was a graduate of Lima Senior High School. He was a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, where he had served as an usher. Thomas retired from Nickles Bakery after 25 years of service, where he worked as an indexer. He was an avid Ohio State Buckeye and Cleveland Browns fan, and enjoyed music, fishing, and fixing cars. Most of all, he was a devoted family man. He loved spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Vickie K. Alves Collier; 4 sons, Thomas A. Collier Watson, Phillip (Erin) Watson, Martrice (Adrianne) Collier, and Christopher (Megan) Collier; 5 daughters, Tijuana Kelley, Shannon M. Russell, Janice Alves, Felicia Cowan, and Mariska Collier; 16 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and brothers, David (Debra) Collier, and Reginald Collier; special uncle, Richard Gooding; and special sister, Gwen Southward; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Thomas J. Collier; daughter, Baby Girl A; granddaughter, Lavae Cowan; sister, Dorothy (James) Hogue; son-in-law, Craig Russell; and mother-in-law, Dora Charmaine Downton.

Funeral services will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 6, 2023, at CHILES – LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, EASTSIDE CHAPEL. Rev. John Hyter will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 6, prior to the service at the funeral home.
