Teresa C. Bungard, age 79, passed away June 27, 2023, at 8:04 pm, at her daughter’s residence. Teresa was born March 6, 1944, in Bedford, England to Charles M. Counts and Jean Mary (Collins) Counts-Ridenour who both preceded her in death. On February 7, 1981, she married Harry Warren Bungard who survives in Elida.
In addition to her husband, Teresa is survived by her children: Ronald ‘Ron’ (Giovanna) Henderson of Fishers, IN, Caroline T. (Scott) Strzesynski of Perrysburg, OH and Mylinda S. (Greg) Schneider of Wapakoneta, OH, 6 grandchildren: Sebastian Henderson, Sophia Strzesynski, Will E. Strzesynski, Anthony Hesseling, Mathew Hesseling and Kayelyn Hesseling, 3 sisters: Vesta Janes, Regina Counts Allan and Rebecca (William) Ridgell, a brother, Charles “Chaz” (Laura Nestler) Ridenour and brother in-law, Rojelio “Roger” Ochoa. She was preceded in death by her step-father, Charles William Ridenour and brother, David Ridenour.
Teresa had worked as an operating room technician for more than 20 years with much of that time with neurosurgeon Dr. L.Y. Soo. She then earned an associates degree in nursing from The Ohio State University Lima Branch. This allowed her to work as an R.N. in various capacities and offices in and around the Lima area until she retired in 2012. In 2006 she founded the Cancer Association of Auglaize County. Teresa loved nursing and was very passionate while caring for her patients. She also loved various crafts like painting, basket weaving and jewelry making. She will be remembered for her strong faith and her ability to do the “Ostrich Walk”.
There will be a memorial service held on Saturday, July 1, 2023 at 5:00pm at the CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL. Officiating the service will be Rev. Randy Davis. Burial of cremated remains will be in Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date.
Friends may visit on Saturday from 3pm until the time of the service at the SHAWNEE CHAPEL. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer Association of Auglaize County. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.chiles-lamanfh.com.
