Ted M. Schneider,71 of Columbus Grove, passed away June 13, 2023, at his home.

Ted was born September 11, 1951, in Lima to Thomas and Mary Lou (McKinney) McDonald, who preceded him in death. On January 18, 1975, he married the love of his life, Linda (Jewell) Schneider at Haiku Garden in Kaneohe, Hawaii where he was stationed during his service in the Marine Corps. His wife survives him in Columbus Grove.

Ted was a 1970 graduate of Bath High School and went on to serve in the Marine Corps from 1971 to 1975. He attended the University of Northwestern Ohio where he earned his degrees in Diesel Mechanics and Business. Ted worked for many years as a pipe fitter at Philips in Ottawa and most recently at Goodyear in Saint Marys until his retirement in 2017. He was an active member and former Commander of the Columbus Grove American Legion Post 516 and he was an avid Cleveland Browns and Ohio State Buckeyes fan. Ted enjoyed hunting, working on vehicles and spoiling his grandkids. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family; he was a big family man.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Melanie (Bret) Morris, Josh (Christine) Schneider and Nick (Lacey) Schneider; grandchildren, Mariah (Brad) Stephens, Trey Sigler and Brayden Sigler; great-grandchildren, Ziporah, Zia, Zaleeyah, Zamyah, Zab and Brey Stephens; siblings, Robert (Patricia) Schneider, Richard (Janice) Schneider, Dennis Schneider, Velma McKinney and Jan (Suzanne) McDonald; sister-in-law, Deb McDonald and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Ted is preceded in death by his brother, Steven McDonald and his brother-in-law, Timothy McKinney.

No services will be held at this time. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
