Sarah (Sally) Eisenman, formerly of White Haven, Pennsylvania passed away June 13, 2018, at Lima Manor Nursing Home in Lima, Ohio. She was born June 25, 1935, in Pennsylvania to the late Lindley “Jack” and Sarah (Burke) Hallman.
On June 20, 1953, she married Rev. Thomas E. Eisenman in White Haven, Pennsylvania. She moved to Lima, Ohio to assist her husband in his career as a minister. They were married for 65 years this month.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Gloria Zehner and an infant brother, Lindley Hallman.
She is survived by three sons, Tom (Angela) Eisenman, Robert (Beth) Eisenman and Richard Eisenman. She also has nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind a very special friend, Ruth Boyd. Sally was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend and she will be greatly missed.
The Order of the Eastern Star was a very important part of Sally’s life. Her Eastern Star membership began in 1965 with her initiation into Gloria Chapter #155 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She moved to Lima, Ohio and joined Trinity Chapter #16 in 1976. She held various offices throughout her years of service to Eastern Star which included Grand Chaplain of Ohio in 2000, State Wide Charities Chairman, and Board member of the OES Home in Mt. Vernon just to name a few. She cherished the friendships that she made while engaging in Eastern Star and she thoroughly enjoyed her travels throughout the state.
She was also a member of the First Reformed Church of Christ in Kenton, Ohio, where she played the piano for services and assisted her husband in his ministry.
Funeral services will begin at 5:00 p.m. Sunday, June 17, 2018, at CHILES – LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL. Rev. Daniel Busch will officiate the service.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. Sunday, June 17, at the funeral home. At 4:45 p.m. an Eastern Star service will be held in her honor.
A very, very special thank you to the staff at Putnam County Homecare and Hospice and to the staff of Lima Manor for all the excellent care that was given to Sally.
