Richard A. Snider – Richard “Dick” Snider, 90, of Lima, died January 9, 2023 at home peacefully after a short illness.

He was born May 10, 1932, in Allen County, Ohio, to William H. and Nevada M. (Hughes) Snider. He was married to Donna Deanne Holden for 52 years who passed in 2003. In 2004, he married Dolores “Deedy” I. Dischinger who survives.

Dick loved playing Legion ball, was good at baseball and football at South High School where he was known as “Speedy Dick Snider”. Dick worked at Randall Bearings for 44 years and in retirement was a custodian at Cable Road Alliance Church where he was a member. His passion was working with youth. He and Donna were youth leaders for 38 years at Epworth United Methodist Church where he also was a softball and basketball coach for many years. He had a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and it was of utmost importance for him to lead youth to Christ. His home was a 2nd home to many youth.

Surviving are 2 daughters, LeeAnn (Dick) Shade and Sharon (Bob) Herr both of Lima; 6 grandchildren – Christy (Stephen) Nease , Matt (Amber) Shade, Andrew Herr, Richard Herr, Brittany (Jacob) Kline, and Tara (Caleb) Dunlap; 9 great-grandchildren; 3 step-children, Herbert Dischinger, Carla Edwards, and Charles Dischinger; 5 step-grandhcildren, Patrick (Tory) Dischinger, Kyle Dischinger, Angela (Justin) Hauck, Alfred Vasta, and William Edwards; 4 step-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents as well as siblings, William E. Snider, Marjorie A. Blackford, Shirley J. Miller

Visitation will be from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm Friday and from 8:30 am until time of services at 10:00 am Saturday at Cable Road Alliance Church with Pastor Dick Jueckstock and Pastor Tim Lewis officiating. Entombment will follow in Memorial Park Mausoleum.
