R. Stanley Tam, 107, of Lima passed away at 1:30 PM on Sunday, April 16, 2023, at Otterbein Cridersville SeniorLife Community.

He was born on September 15, 1915, in Vallejo, CA, to Russell B. and Hazel D. (MacBeth) Tam, who both preceded him in death. On January 21, 1939, he married Juanita M. (Lindeman) Tam, who preceded him in death on October22, 2006.

Stanley was the founder of U.S. Plastic Corporation, where he worked for over 64 years, retiring in 1999. He was a member of Cable Road Alliance Church, where he was an Elder for life, and of Bluelick Bible Church. He served on the board of trustees at Asbury College, was a trustee of O.M.S. International and was a past president of WTGN Radio Station. He enjoyed building walnut furniture, having opened a shop in Lima years ago. He authored four books and was a national and international public speaker. Above all else, he was a soul winner.

Surviving are his daughters Rachel (Glenn) Day of Westerville, OH, and Candace (Paul) Von Tobel of Valparaiso, IN; his sons-in-law Wesley (Camella) Lytle of Celina; and Dr. Darrell (Regina) Long of Lima; his grandchildren Heather Williams, Bryan (Heather) Williams, Jennifer (Chris) McNiven, Kristin (Darrell) Kincer, Stuart Long, Sarah (Mike) Fennell, Stanley (Kristen) Long, Michele (Lisandro) Montenegro, Paul J. (Jenni) Von Tobel IV and Peter (Heather) Von Tobel; his great-grandchildren Aubry (Sam) Brekke, Jack Williams, Eli Williams, Seth Fennell, Molly Fennell, Jack Fennell, Savannah Long, Jacob Long, Evy Kincer, Owen Kincer, Mia Von Tobel, Summer Von Tobel, Piper Von Tobel, Porter Von Tobel, Henry Von Tobel, Finley Von Tobel, Samuel Von Tobel, Judah Montenegro Von Tobel and Chloe Montenegro Von Tobel.

He was preceded in death by his daughters Rebecca Lytle and Prudence Long and his sisters Evelyn Porter and Mildred Ireland.

Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, April 29, 2023, at Bluelick Bible Church, 1138 W. Bluelick Road, Lima, where the family will be receiving friends from 10:00 AM until the service begins at 12:00 PM.

Rev. Jim Neighbors, Dr. Robert Fetherland and Pastor Paul J. Von Tobel IV will officiate.

Interment will immediately follow the services in Woodlawn Cemetery.
