Paul D. Litchfield, 68, passed away on October 11, 2021, at 10:53 am, at Mercy Health – St. Rita’s Medical Center.
Paul was born August 22, 1953 in Lima, OH, to Robert “Bob” and Emma (Willeke) Litchfield who both preceded him in death. On July 10, 1976 he married Roberta (Fredricks) Litchfield who survives in Lima, OH.
Paul attended Elida High School. He enlisted into the United States Marine Corps in 1972 and retired in 1993 with the rank of Master Gunnery SSgt (E8). He was in both The Gulf War and Desert Storm. Paul was a proud veteran and loved his country very much. After his career in the Marine Corps he was a truck driver that “pulled parts for Honda”. Paul loved his wife dearly and cherished spending time with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed fishing and photography. Paul was a very selfless and kind man. He wanted to make sure that everyone was taken care of during their time of need.
Paul is survived by his wife, Roberta Litchfield of Lima, OH, children, Joseph “Joe” (Lindsay) Litchfield of St. Marys, OH, John (Lydia) Litchfield of Martins Ferry, OH, Lora (Luke) Ralston of Lima, OH, seven grandchildren and his sister, Janet (Timothy) Landis of Covington, OH.
He is preceded in death by sister, Barbara Ruch.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, October 15, 2021 at 2:00pm at CHILES – LAMAN FUNERAL HOMES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery following the service.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 15, 2021 from 12:00pm to 2:00pm at CHILES – LAMAN FUNERAL HOMES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL.
Memorial contributions may be made to Fallen Patriots and Wounded Warrior Project.
