Marybeth Corbett, age 70, passed away on January 1, 2021, at 3:37 am, at her residence.

Marybeth was born February 2, 1950, in Washington, DC to Fred and Anita Corbett, both of whom preceded her in death.

Marybeth was a graduate of Lima Senior High School, Bluffton College, and the University of Dayton. Marybeth taught for 36 years with Lima City Schools where she touched many lives. She carried this work forward as a member of the Allen County Retired Teachers Association and with her volunteer work for The Lima Literacy Council and as a tutor.

Following retirement, Marybeth trained and worked as a spiritual director gaining new friends while exploring her deep faith and spirituality. Marybeth was a member of Spiritual Directors International and the Delta Kappa Gamma Society. She attended both South Side and Central Christian Churches (Disciples of Christ) for many years, where she greatly enjoyed singing in the choir and taking active leadership roles.

Marybeth was an avid reader and she loved to knit, especially sweaters, dishcloths and scrubbies. She deeply enjoyed spending time with those closest to her. Marybeth was an exceptional woman who understood the art of listening. She will be greatly missed by all those who were fortunate enough to know her.

Survivors include a dear friend, Shawn (Jane) Stevens, whom she loved as a son; as well as siblings, Glenn (Deb) Corbett, Pat (Tim) Aaron, Pam (Shane) Walton, Penny (Jeff) Crider, and Tim (Barb) Corbett as well as several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by: parents, Fred and Anita Corbett.

A private committal service will take place at Memorial Park Cemetery, with a celebration of life to take place at a later date.

Rev. Todd Cosart and Rev. Wanda Werking will officiate the committal service.
