ELIDA — Mary L. Weaver, age 85, was called home to her Precious Savior, at 2:14 p.m. Saturday, April 7, 2018, at St. Rita’s Medical Center with her loving family by her side.
Mary was born April 29, 1932, in Lima, to the late Albert J. and Gladys M. (Beamer) Steiger. On August 18, 1950, she married her high school sweetheart, Richard E. “Dick” Weaver who survives in Elida.
Mary was a 1950 graduate of Lima Central High School. She played the piano and loved music and crafts. She was a longtime member of the Lima Community Church where she was a dedicated Prayer Warrior. Mary was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who loved spending time with her family.
Survivors include her husband of sixty seven years, Richard E. “Dick” Weaver of Elida; five children, David (Jill) Weaver of Las Vegas, NV, Suzette “Suzie” Weaver of Elida, Robert “Bob” (Lisa) Weaver of Burns, TN, Daniel (Tonya) Weaver of Wapakoneta and Joseph J. “Joe” Weaver of Elida; eighteen grandchildren; twenty three great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by a brother, Carl Steiger; three sisters, Helen (Todd) Adams, Evelyn (Tom) Jester and Ruth (Harold) Rhinock and her Beloved K-9 friend, Daisy.
Memorial services celebrating Mary’s life will begin 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 10, 2018, at the Lima Community Church, 2945 N. Cole St., Lima, Ohio 45801. Dr. Doug Boquist will officiate the service. Burial of cremated remains will be at a later date in Greenlawn Cemetery, Elida.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 10, prior to the service at the church.
