Marion A. Murino, age 92, passed away October 21, 2018, at 12:30 pm, at Lima Convalescent Home. Marion was born April 18, 1926, in Ozone Park, NY, to John and Theresa A. (Aull) Harris who preceded her in death. On January 19, 1947, she married her childhood friend and love of her life, Alfonso A. “Al” Murino who preceded her in death on May 17, 2015.
Marion was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church. Marion took great pride in the fact that she worked for the Navy Department during WWII. She was responsible for the accuracy and calibration of their cannon sights and she took this very seriously. Marion had a beautiful voice and as a young adult in New York, she sang on the radio, at weddings and even made a record. You would often hear her singing around the house. Family was important to her and she loved having everyone around. She was known for her weekly spaghetti dinners and crumb cake. She was a great cook and there was always an extra plate on the table for anyone who stopped by.
Marion is survived by her children: James (Sherry) Murino of Lima, OH, Theresa (Bill) Paton of Lima, OH, Donna (Gary) Sturdivant of Lima, OH, Vincent Murino of Lima, OH, Ronald (Jill) Murino of Spencerville, OH, Alan Murino of Lima, OH and Valerie (Mark) O’Dowd of Lima, OH, 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, a sister, Irene Beato of St. Augustine, FL and a sister in-law, Joan Harris of St. Augustine, FL. She was preceded in death by 5 brothers: John (Annie) Harris, Richard (Mamie) Harris, Dave (Carol) Harris, Teddy (Carol) Harris and Kenny Harris, 5 sisters: Rose (Frank) Daniels, Mae (John “Jack”) Parks, Mabel (Joe) Salg, Tessie (Eddie) Lackenbauer and her infant sister, Doris Harris.
There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at 11:00 am at St. Charles Catholic Church. Officiating the Mass will be Fr. Kent Kaufman. Burial of cremated remains will be held at a later date. The family has entrusted the CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL in assisting them with funeral arrangements.
Friends may call on Wednesday at the church from 10:00 am until the time of the Mass. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.chiles-lamanfh.com.
