Luetta C. “Toot” Heffner, 97 of Lima, passed away December 6, 2018 at Auglaize Acres.

Luetta was born August 26, 1921 in Auglaize County to Elbert and Dorothea (Hengstler) Sheipline, who preceded her in death. On October 9, 1942 she married Edgar Eugene Heffner who preceded her in death in 1949.

Luetta graduated from Harrod High School in 1939 and attended Northwestern Business College in Lima. She worked multiple jobs, the last being a bookkeeper at Duff Stone Quarry until she retired in 1983. Luetta was a member of Westminster United Church of Christ for over 80 years. She enjoyed traveling with her friends and volunteering at Lima Memorial Hospital.

Luetta is survived by her daughter, Bonnie “Cathy” Adair; grandchildren, Penny (Keith) Wiseman, Janey Knittle, Carol (Matt) Koenig, Scott Heffner, Tony Heffner, Gaylan (Pam) Adair, Angie (Chris) Teutsch and Shanda Lochard; 18 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Forrest F. Sheipline and her sister, Susan A. Jenkins.

She is preceded in death by her son, Eugene “Skip” Heffner; sister, Mabel Mae Logan, brother, Joseph Sheipline and her son-in-law, Bruce Adair.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES – EASTSIDE CHAPEL with Pastor Patrick Kamler to officiate the service. Burial will be in Salem Westminster Cemetery following the service.

Visitation will be Monday, December 10, 2018, 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm & 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
