Loretta G. Hamby, age 56, passed away January 23, 2019, at 6:49 pm, at Mercy Health – St. Rita’s Medical Center. Loretta was born January 28, 1962, in Lima, OH, to Larnce and Geraldine A. (Reed) Hamby who preceded her in death.
Loretta had attended the Allen East High School. After high school she was a homemaker and focused on raising her family. She was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church in Lima. Loretta liked playing cards, bingo, people watching, gossiping, and having a good time. Most of all she loved spending time with her family.
Loretta is survived by her children: Stephanie Allsup of Lima, OH, Amanda Allsup of Lima, OH, Warren Allsup of Piqua, OH and Levi Sanders of Lima, OH, 12 grandchildren: Jordan Johnson, Alexis Kurtz, Brady Kurtz, Isaac Allsup, Austin Allsup, Kole Allsup, Maverick Allsup, Reggie Jones, Malachi Allsup, Gavin Jones, Kristiana Lewis and Marcellous Lewis Jr., 8 nephews and 7 nieces and 20 great nieces and nephews, 4 sisters: Karen L.Van Meter of Lima, Ohio, Brenda Byrd of Lawrenceburg, KY, Jennifer (Joseph) Prine of Columbus Grove, OH and Yvonne (Thomas) Nowlan of Beaver Dam, OH, and a brother in-law, Roy Hamilton of Lawrenceburg, KY. She was preceded in death by 2 sisters: Reba Hamilton and Donna Levering and a brother in-law, Harold R. VanMeter.
There will be a funeral service held on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at 1:00 pm at the CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, EASTSIDE CHAPEL. Officiating the service will be Rev. David Coffey. Burial will be in Ward Cemetery following the service.
Friends may call on Tuesday from 11:00 am until the time of the service at the EASTSIDE CHAPEL. Memorial contributions may be made to the Freewill Baptist Church. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.chiles-lamanfh.com.
