She was born April 7, 1950 in Lorain County, OH, to Wister and Juanita (Williams) Morning who preceded her in death.

Janice was the mother of four children: Nichole (Kenneth) Reynolds of Detroit, Joyce (Curtis) Johnson of Cincinnati, Walter (Shelley Russell) Earl Dewberry, Jr., of Dayton and Lewis Montell Dewberry, deceased; and her siblings: Wista (William) Brown of Apopka, FL, John Jackson of Ohio, Denise (Thaddeus) Hill of Detroit, MI and Mary (Tracy) Baker of Sacramento, CA; along with 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Janice was actively involved working many years with the Youth and Social Service. Janice worked with the Bradfield Center, The American Red Cross, S.A.F.Y., M.R.D.D., Job-Corps, Community Action, Lima-UMADAOP and many other agencies.

Janice was a spiritual individual. She loved to read, sew, garden, loved butterflies, cooking, and her most favorite place to be was the beach. Janice’s passion was her grandchildren.

Janice never met a stranger. She was a mother and mentor to many throughout her years. She was filled with the abundance of love, care and concern for another. Janice was a true meaning of a Samaritan. She had the spirit of integrity, selflessness, compassion, kindness, tolerance and moral courage.

Janice came face to face with her illness. She met it head on as a warrior. She never complained, never gave up, but trusted in God.

Janice leaves to her family and friends a legacy of love and compassion. To put aside your differences and help those who are in need of help. She just saw a need!
