Harry H. Emlinger, 85, passed away November 9, 2022 at 4:56 p.m. at the Putnam Heritage Assisted Living in Ottawa, Ohio.
Harry was born August 28, 1937 in Lima, to Russell T. and Hazel I. (Ruff) Emlinger who preceded him in death. On May 6, 1956 he married Patricia “Pat” (Sproul) Emlinger who survives.
Harry was a 1955 graduate of Lima Central High School and was an active member of the Garden City Christian Union, where he was an elder. He retired from CenturyLink after over 50 years of dedication. He also was active in the Allen County Council on Aging. He loved to tell jokes, play pool, and was a phenomenal card player, especially poker. He dedicated a lot of time to taking care of his rose bushes. Above all he was a devoted Christian man, who deeply loved the Lord.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia “Pat” Emlinger of Lima; children, Greg (Sandy Vicinio) Emlinger of Floral City, FL, Michelle (Dean) Rowland of Floral City, FL, Lisa (John) Battles of Lima, Chris Reiss of AZ, and Wendy (Greg) Nocera of Lima; grandchildren, Amanda (Will) Jarrett of Murfreesboro, TN, Bailey Battles of Lima, and Taylor Nocera of Cincinnati; great-grandsons, Chandler, Caleb, and Connor Jarrett; and a sister, Michelle “Mickey” McNamara of Lima.
In addition to his parents, Harry was preceded in death by his two brothers, Jerry Hall and Robert “Bob” Hall.
Services will be held at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services – Shawnee Chapel. Pastor Wayne Waltz to officiate the service. Visitation will be Wednesday, November 16, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Allen County Council on Aging.
