Gloria Pfeiffer Leech, 84 of Lima, passed away February 22, 2022, at 4:20 pm, The Greens at Lima Convalescent Home, surrounded by her loving family.

Gloria was born June 10, 1937 in Kenton, to Warren and Marjorie (Buck) Pfeiffer, who preceded her in death. On December 26, 1963, she married Dr. Thomas Leech, who preceded her in death on September 21, 1999.

Gloria was a 1955 graduate of Kenton High School who went on to further her education at USC from 1955 to 1956 and graduated with her Bachelors in Education from Ohio Northern University in 1961. She was both a teacher and substitute teacher at Kenton City Schools, Carroll Ohio Schools and Lima City Schools and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Gloria was very active in the community; she was a member of Shawnee Country Club, Medical Auxiliary, the Lotus Club and the Lima City Parks Board. She remained active in her colleges through the Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority Alumni and the ONU Women’s Association. There was always a get together or a holiday to look forward to and she loved spending time with the people nearest to her. Gloria will be deeply missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.

She is survived by her daughter, Lila (Padraic) Murray of St. Louis, MO; grandsons, Aidan Thomas Murray and Declan Craig Murray, both of Kansas City, MO; nephew, John (Kelley) Pfeiffer Sweeney of San Antonio, TX; niece, Diane Sweeney Alexander of Lexington, KY and many wonderful great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.
