F. Rodney McColm, age 78, was called into the presence of the Lord at 12:37 pm Wednesday, September 6, 2017, at Lima Memorial Health System with his family by his side.

Rod was born December 24, 1938 in Grand Cascapedia Quebec., to the late Aubrey and Gertrude (Coull) McColm. On September 28, 1953, he married the love of his life, Mary Ann Fichiera who survives in Lima.

Rod was a graduate of Redford High School and Macomb College in Michigan. He spent many years in management in the trucking industry and retired in 2002 as an Insurance Agent from American National Insurance Company. He served his country in the U.S. Navy.

Rod loved his Lord and he was a faithful student of God’s Word, teaching from children through Senior Saints. He loved his family and his friends. He was a dedicated member of Bluelick Bible Church. He had a winning caring personality and was loved by many. He is also survived by his daughter, Roseanne (Bruce) Bowman of Lima; his two grandsons, Brock and Brody Bowman; his brother, Al (Leona) McColm of North Carolina and sister, Carla McColm of Michigan.

He was also preceded in death by his son, Scott Rodney McColm, and his in-laws, Frank and Rose Fichiera.

A special thank you to Dr. Ashley Rosko, Wexner Medical Center, Columbus, OH for her dedicated care through his four year struggle with cancer.

Funeral services will begin 11:00 am Saturday, September 9, 2017, at Bluelick Bible Church, 1138 W. Bluelick Road, Lima, OH 45801. Pasrot James Neighbors will officiate the Service. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive guests from 4:00 – 8:00 pm Friday, September 8, at CHILES – LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL and one hour prior to the funeral on Saturday at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to Bluelick Bible Church, Building Fund.
