Born May 22, 1935 to Mary (Winski) and John Grumblis in Lima, Ohio. Ed had seven siblings, five of whom preceded him in death: Walter (Cora) Grumblis, Alice Grumblis, John (Sharon) [deceased])Grumblis, James Grumblis, and Michael Grumblis.

Ed is survived by Tom (Sherry [deceased]) Grumblis and Bernice (Jan [deceased) Mikesell. He graduated from St. John Catholic High School in 1953 and entered into the U.S. Navy shortly after that. He served on the USS Hank DD702 as a second class Electricians mate.

Upon being honorably discharged in 1957 he became employed with American Electric Power where he worked for forty years.

On June 25, 1960, he married Lena Bivona who preceded him in death on June 29, 1988. Ed and Lena had two Children, Christina (Mason) Bryan and Tony Grumblis both of Lima.

Ed had six grandchildren: Adam Bryan (Lima), Andrew Bryan (Cincinnati), Maria Bryan (Cincinnati), Benjamin Bryan (Newport, Oregon), Michael Bryan (Lima), Emily Bryan (Lima) and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ed was a life longer member of St. John Catholic church where he volunteered his services from grade school until the time of his death. He also enjoyed fishing, gardening, watching sports with his son, and most of all spending time with his family and friends.

He passed away peacefully on April 5 in Lima surrounded by family. His kind and loving presence will be missed by all.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at 11:00am at St. Johns Catholic Church, 777 South Main Street, Lima, Ohio 45804. Father David Ross to officiate. Burial will follow the services in Gethsemani Cemetery with military honors conducted by The Lima VFW Post 1275.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 from 10:00am until the time of the service at the church.

He was a strong supporter of St. Jude Children’s Hospital so in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Jude Research Hospital or St. John Catholic Church.
