Dennis K. Horlander, 72, passed away on November 28, 2021 at 3:16am surrounded by his family.

Dennie was born on May 13, 1949 in Covington, KY to the late Dennis W. and Rosemary (Kennard) Horlander. On May 30, 1970, he married Judy (Angelle) Horlander who survives him in Lima, OH. Dennie was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church where he enjoyed working as a sound technician and participating in various music ministries throughout the years. He also taught concealed carry classes and was NRA certified in many disciplines. He loved his family and was always there for them with tremendous encouragement and support.

Dennie went to White Oak High School near Longview, TX. He attended St. Edwards University in Austin, TX, where he met his wife. He transferred to Stephen F. Austin State University while working at Mid-Valley Pipeline Company. His work on the pipeline moved his family to Lima, OH. After his retirement, he worked various jobs that incorporated his hobbies. He developed many wonderful friendships and focused his time on helping others. Dennie enjoyed music, reading, providing a warm lap for this cats and spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife, Dennie is survived by his children, Holly (Mark Clark) Horlander of Mason, Ohio and Daniel (Lindsay) Horlander of Fairfield, OH; his brother Stephen (Jane) Horlander of Tyler, TX; his five grandchildren Leo Burkhardt and Bryson, Ian, Kymber and Brystal Horlander along with many in-laws, nieces and nephews that all loved him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Margaret Minton and Carolyn Thornton and his beloved cats, Jaguar, Lolly and Rocky. He will be deeply missed by many.

A Celebration of Life Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at St. Charles Catholic Church, where the family will receive friends in the gathering space for one hour prior to the mass from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.

Memorial contributions can be made to St. Charles Catholic Church in Dennie’s memory.
