David A. Wilson,78, passed away 10:25 am, Monday, September 18, 2017 at his residence.

He was born April 20, 1939 in Cridersville to James and Margaret (Krebs) Wilson who preceded him in death. On November 5, 1960 he married Susan Crabb Wilson who survives in Waynesfield.

David was a veteran of the U.S. Army. For 25 years he was employed in maintenance at St. Rita’s Medical Center and then for 10 years with Auglaize Township. He was a trustee at Westminster Christian United Church of Christ. David was an outdoorsman and enjoyed being in the woods. He was a life long part time farmer. He loved his family and especially going to his grandchildrens’ sporting events.

In addition to his wife David is survived by 2 sons, Donald (Julie Manyo) Wilson and Dale (Sherry) Wilson, both of Waynesfield and a daughter, Kathryn (Steve) Hicks of Eden Prairie, MN. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, Tyler (Brooke) Wilson , Quinn High, Brent Wilson, Travis Wilson, Abigail Hicks and Elijah Hicks; 7 brothers, Jim (Nancy) Wilson of Katy, TX, George Wilson of Santa Rosa, CA, Jerry ( Marilyn) Wilson, of Denison, OH, Joe (Judy) Wilson of Lima, Bill (Glenda) Wilson of Cumberland, IN,Tom (Rita) Wilson of Elida and Chuck (Bonnie) Wilson of Dunkirk; 3 sisters, Mary Kohli of Lima , Sally Denbow of Santa Ana, CA and Sandy Dearth of Madison, WS; sister-in-law, Barbara Wilson of Spencerville.

David was preceded in death by a brother, John A. Wilson, an infant brother, Paul and a sister, Carol Heil.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am, Thursday, September 21, 2017 at Westminster Christian United Church Of Christ. Rev. Patrick Kamler and Rev. Elaine Miksell to officiate. Burial will follow in Salem Westminster Cemetery.

Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 pm Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, EASTSIDE CHAPEL and 1 hour prior to the service Thursday at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to Westminster Christian United Church of Christ and Putnam County Hospice
