Cloyce J. Treece, age 80, was called into the presence of the Lord at 9:35 a.m. Saturday, May 5, 2018, at Mercy Health, St. Rita’s Medical Center with his family by his side.

Cloyce was born February 22, 1938 in Findlay, Ohio to the late Cloyce S. Treece and Mary E. (Lanagan) Treece Helton. On August 15, 1959 he married the love of his life, Barbara A. (Frueh) Treece . In August Cloyce and Barb would have celebrated 59 wonderful years of marriage.

Cloyce was a member of the first graduating class of Lima Senior High School in 1956. He retired from the Ford Motor Company, Lima Engine Plant in 1997, after 38 years of service. Cloyce enjoyed his fishing trips to Canada with his Ford buddies for 48 years. He was a 50 year member and Past Master of Fort Amanda Lodge #706 Free and Accepted Masons which merged with Lima Lodge #205, he was a member and Past High Priest of Lima Chapter #49 Royal Arch Masons, Past Illustrious Master and member of Lima Council #20 Royal and Select Masons, Past Eminent Commander and member of Shawnee Commandery #14, serving as Deputy Division Commander from 2007-2009, Knight Commander of the Temple in 2011 and received the Meritorious Service Award for Commandery in 2014. He was a member of KYCH-Ohio Priory #10, member of the Holy Royal Arch Knight Templar Priests, member of Shawnee AMD and he was a 32nd Degree Mason of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Dayton. Cloyce served in many capacities and held several offices within the Masonic Fraternity. He served as District Deputy Grand Master, District 10 and a Past Treasurer for Fort Amanda Lodge #706. Cloyce was a member of Bluelick Bible Church.

Together with his wife, Barbara he served in many capacities and for many years as a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Trinity Chapter #16, serving as Worthy Patron for many years, Marshall for many years and as Grand Chaplain in 2007. He was awarded the Rob Morris Award for service in the Eastern Stars.

Cloyce was a devoted husband, dad and grandpa who loved life and he loved others, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need and occasionally giving a hard time when he thought it was necessary.

Cloyce was blessed two daughters, Vicki L. Henderson of South Bend, Indiana and Saundra K. “Sandy” (John) Cummings of Miamisburg, Ohio; two granddaughters, Amanda N. Henderson and Keeleigh M. Cummings; two sisters, Joan (Larry) Rose, Sharon Brooks and a brother, Charles (Gwen) Treece.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his son-in-law, Chuck Henderson and sister, Betty Taylor.

Services celebrating Cloyce’s life will begin at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 11, 2018, at Bluelick Bible Church, 1138 W. Bluelick Rd., Lima, Ohio 45801. Pastor Jim Neighbors will officiate the services. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday, May 10, at CHILES – LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERIVCES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL. Eastern Star Services will begin at 8:00 p.m.,followed by a Masonic Memorial Service and a Masonic Ring Service.
