Charles O. “Bud” Reichelderfer, age 87, was called home to the Lord at 4:45 a.m. on Wednesday, January 2, 2019, at his home surrounded by his family.

Charles was born January 23, 1931 in Lima, OH, to the late Charles “Spunk” and Rena (Johnson) Reichelderfer. On June 11, 1955 he married the love of his life, Rosalie “Rose” (Bonito) Reichelderfer.

Charles was a graduate of LaFayette – Jackson High School. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corp. during the Korean War. Charles retired after 38 years of service from Ex-Cell-O / Airfoil -Textron where he worked as a Tool and Dye Maker and Foreman. He loved to farm and was also a private pilot. Charles was a life member and Past Commander of the VFW Post #1275 and a memember of St. Johns Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Rosalie “Rose” Reichelderfer of Lima; three children Robert (Yvonne) Reichelderfer of Loveland, CO, Brenda (Pat Esgate) Reichelderfer of Nyack, NY, and Linda (Jim) Mooney of Lima; ten grandchildren, Chad (Daena) Reichelderfer, Joe (Adrianne) Reichelderfer, Nicole Reichelderfer, Deaenna (Aaron) Thomas, Dana (Jay) Schnipke, James (Amanda) Mooney, Michael Mooney, David Mooney, Ashley Benson, Danielle Benson; fifteen great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Mildred (George) Haliena, Jane McKinney, Pauline Coats and his beloved lifelong friends and neighbors, the Boratens.

He is preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Joe Bonito and two sisters-in-law, Grace Fetter and Gerry Fields.

A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 5, 2019, at St. Johns Catholic Church, 777 S. Main St., Lima, Ohio 45804. Father Doug Taylor will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday, January 4, at CHILES – LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL
