Billie Blevins, 85, passed away on April 16, 2018, at 9:40PM, at Mercy Health – St. Rita’s Medical Center.
Billie was born on January 19, 1933 in Peach Creek, WV, to Alfred and Oma (Layne) Blevins who both preceded him in death. On September 10, 1955 he married Marion “Sue” (Inghram) Blevins who survives in Lima, Ohio.
At the age of 18 Billie joined the Army and served two years, he joined the Air Force and served 19 years and retired at the rank of Master Sergeant. He was in the Vietnam War and stationed in Germany during the Korean War. Billie and his wife Sue were members at Lima Baptist Temple Church for over 15 years. He loved the lord, he took him as his savior. Billie was also a life member of the VFW Post 1275. Billie was a family man, he adored his wife and cherished his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a man of few words, he was soft spoken but truly loved his family.
Billie was survived by his wife, Marion “Sue” Blevins of Lima, OH, children, Jerry Allen (Rhonda) Blevins of Lima, OH, Carey (Leah) Blevins of Lima, OH, Robert Blevins of Marion, NC, siblings, Pat Blevins of Huntington, WV, Edward (Gail) Blevins of Tucson, AZ, Donna (Calvin) Thompson of Smicksburg, PA, grandchildren, Aaron (Kassidee) Blevins, Adam (Jennifer) Blevins, Eric Blevins, Britney Blevins, Zachary Blevins, R.J. Blevins, and 11 Great – Grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his siblings, Earl Blevins, Lorene (Fred) Castrilli, Irene (Ed) Light, Buster Blevins, Jimmy (Rochelle) Blevins, Jackie (Juanita) Blevins.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, April 20, 2018 at 12:00PM at CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL HOME, SHAWNEE CHAPEL. Military rites will be held following the service by the VFW Post 1275. Pastor Gary Hohman to officiate the service. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery at a later date.
Visitation will be on Thursday, April 19, 2018 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL HOME, SHAWNEE CHAPEL.
