Betty R. Early, 91, of Lima passed away at 5:16 PM on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at Lima Memorial Hospital.

She was born on November 4, 1926 in Delphos to Wilbur and Mariah (Leist) Davis, who preceded her in death. On October 6, 1946, she married John O. Early in Delphos and he preceded her in death on April 17, 2012.

Betty was a waitress/ hostess at many area restaurants including The Pines, The Elks, Hudson’s Black Angus and The Beef & Bourbon/Twist & Shout. She was a member of the Eagle’s Aerie 370 and a former member of the American Legion Post 96 and the Moose Lodge 199. She enjoyed playing cards, baking and cooking. She also enjoyed traveling to Coldwater Lake, MI and Indian Lake. She was an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cleveland Cavs.

Surviving are her son Greg (Joyce) Early of Lima; her daughter Deb (Mike) Griffo of Lima; her grandchildren Jason (Carly Neil) Early of Wapak, Tony Griffo of Urbana and Nicholas (Kim Szucs) Griffo of Pittsburgh, PA; her great-grandchildren Ashlynn and Tanner Early, Scarlett and Meredith Griffo; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her siblings Irene Stoll, Evelyn Poling, Donna Shearer, Norma Vorbroker and Harold “Boom Boom” Davis; her brothers-in-law Richard (Mabel) and Francis (Marie) Early.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Sunday, March 4, 2018 at CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Monday, March 5, 2018 at CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL with Pastor Mike Huffaker, officiating.

Interment will immediately follow the service in Sugar Creek Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Sugar Creek Church of the Brethren, 399 E. Bluelick Road, Lima, Ohio 45801.
