Betty Lou Steele. 94, of Golden Lane Apts. went home to be with the Lord, Friday, May 4, 2018 at Mercy Health, St. Rita’s of Lima. She was born September 30, 1923 in Lima to the late Charles W. and Martha (Mattie McCoy) Cook. On July 6, 1943, she married her childhood sweetheart “Stormin” Norman E. Steele who preceded her in death October 28, 1990.

Survivors include two daughters: Vicky (Gary) Allen, Lima, Colleen (Stephen) Rayburn, Lancaster; three grandchildren: Lory (Charles) Lee, Travis Campbell, Ron Rayburn; seven great grandchildren: Dylan Walker, Kameryn and Jayce Lee, Ashley Dean, Joe Wireman, Brandi and Jozie Rayburn; three great great grandchildren; one niece, Sondra (Garee) Watters; one nephew, Toby Cook.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Dan Cook; sister, Kathryn Garee; mother-in-law, Vaundail (Bowsher) Steele; father-in-law, Edward Steele; sisters-in-law: Betty (Barnes) Cook, Ann Steele; brothers-in-law: Wilbur Garee, Willard Steele; granddaughter, Michelle Rayburn; nephew, Lonnie Cook.

Betty was a homemaker and loved spending time with her family and traveling with her husband. She thoroughly enjoyed dancing and aerobics with friends. Betty touched so many lives by being a loving and caring person. She was loved and adored by her family and friends and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She was a member of Senior Citizens Center and Eagles Lodge 360.

Visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, May 13, 2018 at CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL.

Pastor Johnathan Martin, Bible Believers Church, will officiate graveside services 12:30 p.m., May 14th at Memorial Park Cemetery Committal Chapel.
