Arthur J. Brutzer, businessman, age 96, was called home to the Lord, at 6:18 a.m. Wednesday, March 21, 2018, at the Otterbein Retirement Community.

Arthur was born in Hockenheim, Germany to the late Emil and Anna (Walter) Brutzer. He came to America at the age of 3. On April 14, 1946 he married Irene F. (Miller) Brutzer. This year they would have celebrated 72 wonderful years of marriage.

He was a graduate of Lima South High School and was Owner of Brutzer Metal Products Inc. Arthur was a lifetime member of First Evangelical and Reformed Church in Lima. He was a 75 year member of Lima Lodge #205 Free and Accepted Masons and he was a 32nd degree Mason, Order of the Scottish Rite, Valley of Dayton.

He enjoyed ball room dancing, traveling, refinishing furniture, and working in his woods.

Arthur is survived by his wife, Irene F. (Miller) Brutzer; three children, David A. Brutzer, Rebecca A. (Mel) Bluem and Linda J. Brutzer; three Granddaughters, Lacha (Brent) Noward, Ashley (Beau) Carmon, Jessica Bluem; five great grandchildren; sister in law, Diane Brutzer and sister-in-law, Evelyn Sarber.

He is preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Pat Brutzer and a brother, Walter A. Brutzer.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. Sunday, March 25, 2018, at CHILES – LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL and from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Monday at First Evangelical and Reformed Church, an hour prior to the funeral. Masonic services will be held at 5:00 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home.

Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 26, at the First Evangelical and Reformed Church, 320 W. Wayne Street, Lima, Ohio 45801. Pastor Larry Blunden will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers charitable donations may be made to First Evangelical and Reformed Church, Lima Rescue Home or the charity of the donor’s choice.
