Anita E. “Skeeter” Cox, age 71, passed away at 9:24 p.m. on Tuesday, April 4, 2023,at Lima Memorial Health System from injuries sustained from a automobile accident with her family by her side.

Anita was born October 31, 195, in Bluffton, OH, to the late Harry E. and Josephine (Bassitt) Snyder. On October 22, 1971, she married Wilfred G. “Willie” Cox.

Anita was a 1970 graduate of Allen East High School. She retired from All Phase Electric after 33 years of service. She was known for her sense of humor and she loved to bake, golf and show horses. She was a member of South Side Christian Church and she especially loved to travel and spend time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 52 years, Wilfred G. “Willie” Cox of Lima; children, Jason E. (Shannon) Cox of Rudolph and Kendra (Scott) Hershberger of Lima; four grandchildren, Devon M. Cox of Columbus, Paige N. Cox of Lima, Dr. Jared (Jennifer) Ellinger of Coldwater, MI, and Morgan R. Smith of Tampa, FL; great-grandson, James Ellinger; two sisters, Janet (Brian) Stark of Findlay, and Joyce (Russ) Sealscott of Bluffton; four brothers-in-law, Tommy Cox, David (Denise) Cox, Jack (Mary Jo) Cox, and Tom Lombardi; seven sisters-in-law, Carolyn Jolliff, Bonnie (Bob) Quigley, Tina Rosengarden, Melissa (Keno) McKean, Molly (Armondo) Tijerina, Linda Cox, and Betty Cox.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by three brothers-in-law, Larry Cox, Charles Cox, and Bob Jolliff and two sisters-in-law, Ruth Lombardi, Vickie Cox.

Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at CHILES – LAMAN FUNERAL CREMATION SERVICES, EASTSIDE CHAPEL. Rev. Wanda Werking will officiate the service. Entombment will follow in the Memorial Park Mausoleum.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, April 10, at the funeral home.
