Alice Louise Snyder, 81, passed away October 26, 2016, at 7:40 am, St. Rita’s Medical Center surrounded by her family.

Alice was born September 30, 1935 in Lima, OH, to Henry and Agnes (Sliemers) Heckman who preceded her in death. On Feb. 4, 1963 she married Delmar LeRoy “Lee” Snyder who preceded her in death on March 15, 2012.

She was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church. “Al”, as many called her,was a remarkable and talented woman in many different ways. But first and foremost, she was a loving wife to Lee, devoted mother, caring sister and proud grandmother to her many grandchildren. She understood the responsibility of each of these roles, never for once allowing selfish thinking to interfere with her “always giving” mind-set. Alice was tremendously proud of the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren. She was especially proud of her grandchildren’s success from academics, to Eagle Scouts, to their success in athletics, and then their success as young adults. She absolutely loved following the Bath Wildkittens and rarely missed a game whether it be on the volleyball court or softball field. Alice and Lee loved to play Bingo, they also spent many a day together traveling by charter bus to the casino in Detroit. Alice never forgot her humble beginnings growing up in Lima. She went on to become an important worker for Duff Trucking Company working as an accountant for 15 years. Alice eventually gave up her career at Duff’s to raise her family. She remained totally devoted to her faith and family to her last day on earth. Alice Snyder touched many people’s lives and will be missed greatly. Thank you Al.
